Dr. Dan Marom

Dr. Dan Marom is a thought leader in FinTech, author of pioneering books in the crowdfunding domain and a leading figure in the growing field of impact investing. Being both a practitioner - as a consultant, entrepreneur and investor in various FinTech ventures & projects – and an academic, serving as a senior faculty member at the Hebrew University’s business school (Jerusalem).

In 2010, Dr. Marom co-authored a pioneering book in the field of crowdfunding - “The Crowdfunding Revolution”. The 2nd edition was published in 2012 by McGraw-Hill. Since then, Dr. Marom has been fortunate to speak passionately about crowdfunding around the globe, teach students, consult entrepreneurs, corporations and policy makers, invest and venture in the fintech & impact domains, alongside holding several board memberships and advisory board roles. With vast experience both in developed and developing markets.

Dr. Marom is advising international organizations such as the World Bank, the European Commission and other organizations and foundations that are operating in the alternative finance field. He is a frequent speaker in leading conferences and seminars, also writing extensively about crowdfunding and its impact within it. To his various engagements, he brings insights developed through rigorous analysis of data as part of his research work.

His second co-authored book, “Crowdfunding: The corporate era” (2015) was published by Elliott & Thompson. His third co-authored book “CrowdAssets: Crowdfunding for policy makers” was published in mid-2020 by world scientific publishing.

Dr. Marom’s current focus is in empowering impact projects and ventures that are targeting underserved communities in emerging countries. 

He lives in Tel Aviv, Israel, holds a PhD in Finance from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, an MBA (Cum Laude), and a BSC in Electrical Engineering.
